The whole process of blood testing unnerves me.
It’s not so much the needle as it is the waiting for the results.
My mind races…
“What if I have an incurable disease?”
“What if I only have thirty days to live?”
Every time the phone rings, I imagine a doctor on the other end delivering the fateful news: “Seneca, you have XYZ disease and you need to come in.”
Yes–I’m a bit of a hypochondriac. Doctors offices and endless wait times just aren’t my thing.
